Biog

Bob Holroyd is one of the UK's leading exponents of ambient/global fusion/chillout music who to date has released 4 albums, including the critically acclaimed A Different Space and Without Within . His work has been licenced extensively for films and tv including The Centre of the World - directed by Wayne Wang , Ace Ventura 2 - When Nature Calls , The Sopranos , Bombay Blush , Rough Guides, Panorama and Around the World in 80 Treasures . His tracks also appear on numerous compilations, and have been remixed by various DJs including Coldcut, Francois K, Romanthany, Steve Lawler, dZihan and Kamien, and Loop Guru.

Always hard to catagorise, Bob's music includes influences from extensive travels in Africa and Asia, and ranges from intense walls of percussive drumming - as on his cult club classic ' African Drug ' - to delicate atmospheric soundscapes, such as the beautiful ' Looking Back ' - a track recorded for the ' Sanscapes ' project to highlight the plight of the Kalahari Bushmen.

He has also recorded the muslim Call to Prayer at Regent's Park Mosque, writing a moving and dramatic piece around the haunting vocal by Yusuf Islam ( formerly Cat Stevens ), and is currently working on the score to "Scenes from a Parish " - a film by James Rutenbeck exploring religious and social tensions in New England between ' old ', first wave immigrants from Ireland, and ' new ' settlers from such places as Korea and Mexico.
